A Collaborative Recording studio in Saranac Lake, NY
I was tasked with creating a logo for "Linda's Carriage Barn", a cooperative music recording studio nestled in the back streets of Saranac Lake, NY. The history of this design goes back to to Linda the Horse. Linda was a community horse that lived in the a barn, the same barn (rebuilt) that is now the recording studio. She made a lasting impact on the community as a whole and was a cherished member.
The base image comes from a newspaper article dated in the 1970s. This was the last image of the Linda before passed away. My goal was to recreate this image into a vector design with clean silhouettes and outlines. It took some effort and a bit of creative thinking, but the end result feels natural and references the scene and history well.
The Logo: The image above was directly used to create the logo design below. It just goes to show that no image is unusable!
